As a lifetime member of the American Culinary Federation, Suzanne is equally at home with a canvas, easel and oil paints. Rather than a harmony of marizpan, chocolate or glazes, she focuses on oil painting and dry brush techniques taught by Big Island artist Edwin Kayton, she has studied with him for years, both in Kona and Italy. Her images reflect these surroundings as she works in a realistic style taught by Kayton in classes she hosts on the lanai of her home in Kailua Kona. Her subjects range from still life to landscapes, and include charming and charismatic villages of Tuscany, Umbria and Calabria as well as Island seascapes and whimsical baked goods.
